Dion Lewis, a former NFL running back who won a Super Bowl championship with the New England Patriots, was arrested on Monday in Florida.
The 32-year-old, who retired in 2021, was arrested for trespassing on Monday afternoon before being released later in the day on $500 bond, according to a report from TMZ.
Lewis was originally drafted in 2011 by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round. He played just two seasons in Philadelphia. From there, he spent time with both the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts before settling in New England in 2015. Lewis appeared in a total of 30 regular-season games for the Patriots, starting 19 of them.
He ran for 1,413 yards and 8 touchdowns in those games, and he also scored one rushing and one receiving touchdown for the Patriots in six playoff appearances.
After three years with the Patriots, Lewis would go on to spend two seasons with the Titans and one final year with the New York Giants in 2020.
He announced his retirement from professional football in 2021, shortly before the start of the NFL season.
