A scary scene in Detroit on Sunday as Panthers rookie offensive lineman Chandler Zavala collapsed and fell to the ground face first while blocking a Lions’ defensive lineman during the first quarter.
Zavala was unconscious before being stretchered off by medical personnel. He eventually gave fans a thumbs up as he was being carted off the field, signaling that he was conscious and responsive.
The game was stopped for over five minutes while medical personnel tended to Zavala. He was also taken to the hospital to be treated for a neck injury and was obviously ruled out for the remainder of the game.
