Colts Owner Jim Irsay Blames His Arrest On 2014 On Police Being Prejudice Against “White Billionaires”

Indianapolis Colts Jim Irsay says his arrest in 2014 for driving under the influence was because the police were prejudice against him for being white and rich.

“I am prejudiced against because I’m a rich, white billionaire,” Irsay told Andrea Kremer on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. “If I’m just the average guy down the block, they’re not pulling me in, of course not.”

Here’s the clip:

When Kremer confronted Irsay about how “ridiculous” it sounds for him to say a white billionaire was a victim of prejudice, Irsay doubled down:

“I don’t care what it sounds like. It’s the truth,” Irsay said. “You know, Andrea, I could give a damn what people think how anything sounds or sounds like. The truth is the truth and I know the truth.”

Back in 2014, Irsay pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated, which was a misdemeanor. Irsay said he pleaded guilty because he “wanted to get it over with.”
