Former Titans TE Frank Wycheck, Hero Of Music City Miracle Play, Has Died At Age 52

Former Tennessee Titans tight end Frank Wycheck has died at the age of 52 years old on Saturday, his family announced in a statement.

“At this time, it appears Frank Wycheck fell inside his Chattanooga, TN home and hit his head on Saturday morning,” the statement read. “He was found unresponsive that afternoon. Wycheck moved to Chattanooga,TN this past summer to be closer to his family. He leaves behind two adult daughters, Deanna and Madison, both married, and three grandchildren – Leo, Stevie and August.” 

Wycheck played college ball at Maryland and was a sixth-round pick of Washington in 1993. After playing two seasons with Washington, he played the next nine seasons with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans.

He was at his best as a member of the Titans and made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 1998 to 2000. Those were three of his five career seasons with more than 600 receiving yards.
