Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields made headlines this week when he decided to unfollow the team’s official Instagram account.
The decision came on the heels of rumors flying about what the Bears will do with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and Fields seemed like he just wanted to get away from football, in general. While appearing on The 33rd Team Podcast on Wednesday, Fields explained his decision:
“Man, bro, I’m glad we’re talking about it. Because people … why do people take social media so serious? Like I still mess with the Bears, this and that, I’m just trying to take a little break. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL. I’m just not trying to have football on my timeline.”
It seems like Fields is tired of hearing about all the speculation about what the Bears will do.
