BREAKING: Panthers And DT Derrick Brown Agree On A Massive Four-Year Contract Extension

The Carolina Panthers and defensive tackle Derrick Brown have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $96 million. The deal also includes $63 million in guaranteed money.

Brown is set to average $24 million per year, which would make him the fourth highest paid defensive tackle in the NFL, trailing only Chris Jones (Chiefs), Christian Wilkins (Raiders) and Justin Madubuike (Ravens). All four of those guys signed contract extensions this offseason.

Brown is a really good player who’s been playing on a bad Panthers team so it’s nice to see him get his recognition. He’s coming off a season in which he set a team record for tackles by a defensive lineman with 67.

The No. 7 overall pick in 2020, Brown has 245 tackles and eight sacks during his four-year career in Carolina.
