Harrison Butker caused quite the controversy this week when during a commencement address before the graduates of Benedictine College, a small Catholic school in Atchinson, Kansas when Butker addressed numerous topics.
Beyond calling Pride Month a “deadly sin” and criticizing President Joe Biden for his reaction to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Butker notably suggested that women should seek getting married and having children rather than aiming to pursuing careers in the professional workforce.
The comments angered many, including the NFL who separated themselves from his statements, but it wasn’t all controversy, as many have come to the defense of the kicker, particularly in the form of jersey sales.
Butker’s jersey now ranks as the highest-selling in both men’s and, perhaps surprisingly, women’s categories.
