Cardinals WR Zay Jones Suspended Five Games For Violating The NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones has been suspended by the NFL for five games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Jones’ suspension is from a misdemeanor domestic battery charge from March. Despite the charge being dropped, the league’s self-conducted investigation concluded with Jones being suspended for five games.

Jones signed a one-year contract worth up to $4.25 million with the Cardinals on May 10.

Jones was arrested in November of 2023 after an argument with the mother of his child allegedly suffering an injury to her neck, according to the police report. In March, the Florida state attorney’s office announced that it would not pursue the charges against Jones and the case was dropped.

Jones was a second-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2017. He spent the past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being released by the team on April 30th.

While Marvin Harrison Jr. will still operate as Arizona’s No. 1 receiver in the wake of Jones’ suspension, 2023 third-round pick Michael Wilson and 26-year-old Greg Dortch should serve larger roles in the offense until he’s able to return.
