The first game of the 2024 NFL season was as great for the Kansas City Chiefs as it was heartbreaking for the Baltimore Ravens.
On the final play of the game, Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely made a specular catch in the back of the end zone to potentially tie the game and send it to overtime but replay showed that Likely’s toe, yes his toe, was an inch out of bounds. The referees reviewed the play and overturned the call, handing the Ravens a 27-20 loss at Arrowhead Stadium.
After the game, a frustrated Likely let the emotions get the best him as he was walking in the tunnel. A couple of Chiefs fans were heckling him as he was walking up the ramp, he turned to a couple of Chiefs fans and sent them a ‘Not Safe For Work’ message.
The 24-year-old tight end finished the game with 111 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine receptions. With Mark Andrews working his way back from injury, Likely has stepped up and produced one of the best games of his career.
The Ravens will host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.
