New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr was reportedly fined this week for his end zone celebration after scoring a rushing touchdown during the Saints’ 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2.
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Carr was fined $14,000 for the touchdown dance since he grabbed his crotch during it.
Carr’s dance move was inspired by Michael Jackson, and the Saints signal-caller told ESPN’s Katherine Terrell tat his brothers encouraged him to do the dance after scoring a TD.
This isn’t the first time Carr has been fined by the NFL. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Carr, along with his Raiders teammates, were fined $15,000 for conduct detrimental to the league after they were photographed not wearing face coverings at a charity event.
The 2-0 Saints are off to the a hot start and look to improve to 3-0 when they host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
