Bill Belichick Calls Out Jets During Discussion About Sam Darnold: “Everyone Liked Him, Expect The Jets”

The resurrection of Sam Darnold’s NFL career has been the most enjoyable storyline of the NFL season so far. The former No. 3 overall pick, who flamed out in New York with the Jets and in Carolina with the Panthers before spending a year with Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers, has led the Minnesota Vikings to a 3-0 start.

During Monday’s edition of The Pat McAfee Show, former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was a guest and he spoke about how despite the lack of success on the field, people within Darnold’s previous organizations were huge fans of his.

Expect one organization that Belichick knows best.

“I’ll say this: everybody has liked Darnold except the Jets,” Belichick stated. “The people in Carolina I talked to, they really liked him. … I know that Kevin [O’Connell] and some of the coaches in Minnesota, they really like this guy, too. So it seems like the only people who didn’t like Darnold were the Jets.”
