It sure sounds like Daniel Jones’ time as the New York Giants starting quarterback is coming to an end.
Following a disastrous 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Germany, Brian Daboll declined to comment on who would be the starting quarterback when the Giants come out of their by week.
“We’re gonna get started on this process here, going back and looking at everything you normally look at in a bye week — schemes, situational stuff, technique, all the things you do in a normal bye week,” Daboll said, via SNY.
Daniel Jones threw two horrible interceptions during Sunday’s loss, both of which happened when the Giants were in the red zone. The Giants are also 3-13 in their last 16 games with Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback and there’s also a $23 million injury guarantee in his contract that would kick in if he were to suffer an injury that would impact his availability for the 2025 season.
If the Giants do bench Jones, all indications are that they are going to be turning to Drew Lock but there’s an outside chance it could also be Tommy DeVito.
