Aaron Rodgers has no intentions of retiring after this season and wants to keep playing in 2025. He just doesn’t want to keep playing for the New York Jets.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Rodgers wants to play next year but it won’t be for the Jets.
“At this point, after conversations with sources with the team and around the league, my understanding is that Rodgers still wants to play in 2025, just not for the New York Jets,” Russini reports.
Rodgers’ tenure in New York has been disastrous, and all indications are they will be replacing him when free agency starts in March. After tearing his Achilles in 2023, his 2024 season has been a complete disaster with the team at 3-8 and in last place in the AFC East.
If Russini’s report comes to pass, it’ll be interesting to see which teams go after Rodgers for next season. He’s already 40 and will be 41 when next season starts.
In 11 games this season, he has thrown for 2,442 yards through the air, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
