Aaron Rodgers Denies Rumors He Doesn’t Want To Play For Jets In 2025: “That’s 100% False”

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers denied saying he has a preference about where he might play in 2025.

“I haven’t told anybody in my life that I want to play in 2025 and not on the Jets,” he said Tuesday during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “That’s 100 percent false.”

Rodgers added that “playing in New York would obviously be my first choice if I want to play.”

With the Jets’ season all but done, Rodgers’ future with the team has come under doubt.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported on Nov. 23 that Jets owner Woody Johnson “has lost confidence in Rodgers’ ability to lead the team to their first playoff berth in 14 years.” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport filed a similar report the following day, writing that the four-time MVP “must play far better down the stretch for the opportunity to return in 2025.”

Rodgers is under contract with the Jets for one more year, but nobody will be completely shocked if the partnership ends this spring.
