The quest to rebuild the New York Giants already might be underway as general manager Joe Schoen along with assistant general manager Brandon brown were spotted at Colroado’s football practice to watch Shedeur Sanders on Tuesday.
The video was taking by Deion Sanders Jr. and has sparked a debate about the team’s offseason plans to draft Sanders.
The Daniel Jones era in New York ended last week after the team benched and ultimately released the former No. 6 overall pick. All signs point to the Giants drafting a quarterback in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft and even tried to trade up in last year’s draft to select North Carolina’s Drake Maye, who ultimately went No. 3 overall to the New England Patriots.
The Giants (2-9) might also be headed towards another house cleaning with many speculating that both head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen’s job security is far from secured. The team owner John Mara has has been the butt of all jokes this year after the departure of Saquon Barkley.
If Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll want to stick around and draft the Giants next quarterback, they will probably need to win some games down the stretch including on Thanksgiving against the Dallas Cowboys. if the team gets embarrassed on national television, like they did last week in the 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, many wonder if this regime will even last until the end of the season.
