Najee Harris Blames Teammate’s Girlfriend’s Thanksgiving Dish For Illness During Game vs Bengals

The Pittsburgh Steelers handled their business against the Cincinnati Bengals, 44-38, at Paycor Stadium in Ohio on Sunday afternoon.

The game however wasn’t a memorable one for running back Najee Harris, who had a tough day. Harris had to leave the game during the first quarter due to an illness. He was able to return to the game and was able to tally 75 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries. But his stomach was reportedly bothering him throughout the game.

During his postgame press conference, Harris admitted the illness was something he hate during Thanksgiving.

Harris told reporters after the game that he ate too much of a dish made by Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth’s girlfriend.

“Thanksgiving, Pat’s girlfriend, Jill, she made this fire-ass little banana thing,” Harris said postgame. “I had too much. I guess I didn’t know it affected me until that first drive. So, I blame her.”

The Steelers running back had some oranges and was able to return to the game. He scored a touchdown on a 10-yard rush in the first half.

With the win over the Bengals, the Steelers improved their record to 9-3. Russell Wilson had a big day, throwing for 414 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the win over the AFC North rival.

Pittsburgh will return to the field on Sunday, Dec. 8 against the Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. E.T.
