The Atlanta Falcons needed to beat the Carolina Panthers at home and have the New Orleans Saints pull off the upset against the Buccaneers in Tampa on the final day of the regular season.
But neither of that happened as the Buccaneers came back to defeat the Saints and the Falcons have a total defensive meltdown against Bryce Young and the Panthers, losing 44-38 in overtime, ending the Falcons season.
After the game, Carolina Panthers defensive end Jadeveon Clowney rubbed salt on the wound for Falcons fans by yelling, “See y’all in Cabo”, as he walked off the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Panthers and Falcons will be watching the playoffs from home.
