REPORT: Rams Have Given Matthew Stafford Permission To Speak To Other Teams Amid Trade Rumors

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been talked about in trade rumors ever since their season ended in the NFC Divisional Round. While a decision hasn’t been made yet, it’s certainly starting to sound like the Rams’ front office is open to moving him.

“The Rams have been in conversations with his agent,” Tom Pelissero said on Rich Eisen’s show. “They’ve also given his agent permission to talk to other clubs and just figure out if he became available, what would the numbers be elsewhere?”

Here’s the full clip:

Stafford, 37, finished the 2024 season with 3,762 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Despite still being a good quarterback, the Rams are wary of investing more money into an aging quarterback. His cap hit in 2025 is $49.6.
