REPORT: Giants Pursing Trade For “Big Game” WR Like Jaylen Waddle And Chris Olave Ahead Of Trade Deadline

The New York Giants are looking to make a big splash ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

According to Conor Hughes of SNY New York, the Giants are “big-game hunting” for a wide receiver ahead of the trade deadline and are reportedly interested in trading for either Dolphins’ Jaylen Waddle, Saints’ Chris Olave or Raiders’ Jakobi Meyers.

Per Hughes, a trade for a wide receiver is strictly tied to Jaxson Dart’s development. With Malik Nabers out of the season and Darius Slaytond dealing with a hamstring injury, the Giants are trying to bring in a big-name wide receiver who will help Dart this year and for years to come.

However, Hughes says “the challenge with acquiring Olave or Waddle, according to sources, lies in persuading their current teams to part ways. A directive from ownership, front office shakeups or significant draft compensation might be enough to shift the conversation.”

The trade deadline is Nov. 4th at 4 p.m. so we’ll see if the Giants are able to pull the trigger.

As for this Sunday, the Giants head to Denver to take on the Broncos and another win could lead them o be even more aggressive in trying to get Dart a wide receiver.
