The ‘Tush Push’ once again has caused some controversy.
The Eagles’ signature play came under scrutiny again on Sunday when Jalen Hurts appeared to have clearly fumbled on a 4th and 1 ‘Tush Push’ play after Giants’ linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux clearly ripped the ball out of his hands while Hurts was clearly still pushing forward.
The referees claimed they blew the play dead despite no mic picking up the sound of a whistle and replayed clearly showed Hurts was still moving forward.
Giants coach Brian Daboll was understandably furious, and despite having it explained that he could not challenge the aspect of the play he likely wanted to challenge, threw the flag anyways and lost a timeout and a review in the process.
The play gave the Eagles a first down and the Eagles were able to score a touchdown to plays later and lead the Giants, 21-10, at halftime.
