Texans’ C.J. Stroud Will Miss Sunday’s Game vs Jaguars Due To Concussion

The Houston Texans will be without their starting quarterback on Sunday.

On Wednesday, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans announced Stroud will miss Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after suffering a concussion in a Week 9 loss against the Denver Broncos.

Stroud was trying to get a first down with his legs, but slid short before taking a hit to the chest from Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine. The hit caused Stroud’s head to hit the ground.

The news comes as the Texans sit 3-5 on the season and are up against time to get their season turned around and make a playoff push.

Stroud, who’s in his third season in the NFL, has thrown for 1,702 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions this year.
