Shedeur Sanders made his abrupt NFL debut on Sunday when he came into last Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens after starter Dillon Gabriel left the game with a concussion and it did not go well.
Sanders completed just 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.
While every normal NFL fan understood why Sanders, a fifth round pick, struggled, NFL journalist/reporter Josina Anderson did everything she could to make excuses to make people think that Sanders either didn’t struggle or if he did struggle, it was because of head coach Kevin Stefanski.
First Josina tired to keep all praise to Shedeur for completing a pass that traveled maybe two yards to Jerry Jeudy on 3rd and 10. On the play, Jeudy made several Ravens defenders miss to pick up the first down, something Josina left out of her analysis completely.
Then, she ripped off a barrage of tweets saying Shedeur’s struggles are solely because Kevin Stefanski gave Sanders zero first team reps during practice. Now, it’s important to note that during the season, backup quarterbacks don’t get any first team reps as they are all given to the starting quarterback and understandably so.
Josina then doubled down on her obsessive analysis of Sanders by releasing a clip somehow justifying her take.
This isn’t the first time Josina Anderson has been blasted for her obsession and bias reporting of Shedeur Sanders. After his preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers, Josina shaded the Giants by tweeting, “Turn your eyes Giants fans” – implying that the Giants made a mistake drafting Jaxson Dart over Shedeur Sanders.
Shedeur Sanders is expected to start at quarterback for the Browns on Sunday when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders. We’ll see how more obsessive Josina Anderson will look.
