Trooper Involved In Sideline Altercation With South Carolina Players “Relieved Of GameDay Duties”

A Texas A&M state trooper bumped South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor and scolded him after Harbor scored a touchdown late in the first half of the Gamecocks’ game against Texas A&M at Kyle Field.

After Harbor scored an 80-yard touchdown, he jogged up a tunnel while favoring his hamstring. As Harbor was followed by teammates and the South Carolina players walked out of the tunnel seconds after the touchdown, an officer bumped through the players before turning around to angrily say something to them.

After the clip went viral on social media with many people on social media publicly condemning the officers actions, both the Texas A&M Police Department and the Texas DPS tweeted that the officer had been taken off the field for the rest of the game.

As for the game, despite Harbor’s touchdown giving the Gamecocks’ a 27-3 lead, the No. 3 Aggies pulled off an improbable comeback, winning 31-30.
