
Stefon Diggs isn’t the only Patriots’ player facing assault charges.
According to WCVB-TV Boston, star defensive tackle Christian Barmore is facing a domestic assault charge, according to court documents out of Attleborough District Court that were obtained.
The 26-year-old is charged with one count of assault and battery on a family/household member. The misdemeanor charge stems from an alleged incident in Mansfield on Aug. 8.
According to charging documents, the victim had been in a relationship with Barmore.
The alleged victim claims Barmore became angry with her about the air conditioning temperature in his bedroom while also having an argument “over food.”
Court documents say the victim told police Barmore grabbed her phone from her hands while she was trying to leave the house. When the victim “intended to open the door and scream for help but Christian grabbed her before she could and threw her to the floor.”
The victim claimed Barmore grabbed her by the shirt “in the area of the neck” as she tried to get up, but he eventually let her go. The police report goes on to say Barmore rushed at the victim, but never touched her.
The alleged incident happened in front of the couple’s 2-year-old child. The report also csays the victim told police she had bruises and that she sent a photo to officers.
The criminal complaint was issued on Dec. 16, and Barmore is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 3, 2026, five days before Super Bowl LX.
The New England Patriots released the following statement about the allegations against Barmore:
The Patriots are set to play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday for their final regular-season game.
New England currently holds the No. 2 seed in the AFC as the playoffs approach. Both Barmore and Diggs’ availability for the Miami game and the playoffs is unclear at this time.
Barmore was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. He was diagnosed with blood clots during the 2024 season.
