Well, that didn’t take long.
After it was announced that the Baltimore Ravens were parting ways with John Harbaugh after 18 seasons as their head coach, the favorite to land Harbaugh as their next coach has emerged.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants have emerged as a favorite for Harbaugh.
In addition, SNY’s Connor Hughes reports that the New York Giants “have done a ton of preliminary research on” Harbaugh in anticipation of him being fired by the Ravens and hope to interview him.
Other teams are also expected to have interest in Harbaugh and understandable so. In 18 seasons with the Ravens, Harbaugh had just 3 losing seasons, made the playoff 13 times, won the division six times while leading the Ravens to a victory in Super Bowl XLVII.
While the end of Harbaugh’s tenure in Baltimore wasn’t great, he’s still a proven winner and veteran head coach. The former NFL Coach of the Year has a 180-113 record and has only missed the playoffs six times since taking over in 2008.
