Ty Simpson has made his decision for 2026.
The Alabama quarterback is entering the 2026 NFL Draft, multiple reports confirmed.
After three years as a backup, Simpson spent this past season as the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide. He completed 64.5 percent of his passes for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions. Simpson also rushed for two scores.
He led Alabama to the SEC Championship Game and a College Football Playoff win over the Oklahoma Sooners.
Simpson had to leave the last game of the 2025 season after he said he cracked a rib on a first-half fumble. He tried to play through it but couldn’t in what turned out to be a blowout loss to Indiana in the Rose Bowl.
“It pisses me off,” Simpson said postgame in the locker room. “Especially knowing that I couldn’t finish the game. It felt like I had a good thing going on that drive I got hit. It kind of changed the momentum for sure. I’m ready to get back to work.”
Simpson’s best stretch of the season occurred during five straight SEC games over five weeks in which Alabama beat four consecutive ranked opponents as well as South Carolina. Simpson threw 11 touchdowns over that stretch to go with one interception.
Simpson is projected to be a first round pick in the 2026 draft and could be picked in the top 10.
