
As the Dallas Cowboys start their offseason, they are immediately looking to conduct a search for the team’s next defensive coordinator after firing Matt Eberflus after one season.
On Wednesday, the team held its official exit press conference, discussing the future of the team with the media. Jerry Jones was asked if head coach Brian Schottenheimer would run the defensive coordinator search and Jones answered by referencing Donald Trump having him run Venezuela.

As for whether head coaching experience will be required to land the job, which has been the case for the team’s defensive coordinators since 2014, Jones did not rule out hiring a man who is a first-time coordinator.
The Cowboys finished the season 7-9-1 and had one the worst defenses in the NFL, thus the change.
