President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to echo what many Giants fans want: For the organization o hire John Harbaugh as their next head coach.
Trump called the veteran head coach a “winner” who would restore championship pedigree to the franchise.
Trump’s endorsement of Harbaugh comes amid reports of mutual interest between Harbaugh and the Giants. Multiple reports indicate that the Harbaugh, coming off 18 seasons with Baltimore, “really likes’“ the Giants organization, while team brass is “all-in” on landing him for their head coaching vacancy.
Most recently, Ian O’Connor of The Athletic reported that Giants GM Joe Schoen has had “direct contact” with Harbaugh and those talks “have been positive.”
Harbaugh is reportedly studying film on rookie quarterbacks like Giants’ Jaxson Dart and Tennessee Titans’ Cam Ward as he prepares for a potential role.
A formal interview is expected as early as next week, with the Giants prioritizing Harbaugh over other potential suitors like Kevin Stefanski and Mike McCarthy.
