Packers-Bears NFC Wild Card Game Set Streaming Record

The NFL’s decision to put the Packers-Bears NFC Wild Card Game on Amazon Prime paid off.

On Tuesday, Amazon Prime announced Packers vs Bears playoff game on Amazon Prime was the most-streamed game in NFL history.

According to Andrew Marchand of the Athletic, the previous mark was held by Netflix with their 27.5 million viewers this past Christmas.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone. The Bears and Packers are historic rivals and the previous two meetings came down the final seconds with both teams splitting the regular season series.

The game was another instant classic with the Bears erasing a 21-3 halftime deficit to comeback and defeat the Green Bay Packers, 31-27, to advance to the NFC Divisional Round where they will host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

As for the rest of Wild Card Weekend? The ratings coincided with what Amazon Prime drew.

Paramount said its coverage of the Buffalo Bills’ win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday averaged 32.71 million viewers, up 5% from a year ago and the highest ever for the early-Sunday window on wildcard weekend.

Fox said its coverage of the San Francisco 49ers’ defeat of the Philadelphia Eagles drew an average of 41.5 million viewers on Sunday, while Saturday’s L.A. Rams victory over the Carolina Panthers pulled in 28.3 million.

What more can you say about the NFL? It’s king.
