Brian Flores is staying in Minnesota.
The defensive coordinator has agreed to a contract extension to remain the defensive coordinator in Minnesota as long as he does not receive a head coaching job.
In three seasons as the leader of the Vikings defense, they have limited their opponents to 19.2 points per game which is the second-fewest in the NFL.
In 2025, Flores’ defense allowed an average of 158.5 passing yards per game, the second fewest in the NFL behind the Buffalo Bills (156.9).
Flores, who was a 2024 finalist for The Associated Press Assistant Coach of the Year, helped the Vikings to a 14-3 regular-season record and playoff appearance in 2024, the second-most wins in team history.
His contract expired this past offseason and has interest from multiple teams as their head coach or defensive coordinator.
He’s still in the running for the Steelers, Ravens and Raiders head coaching vacancies while also interviewing for the Commanders and Cowboys defensive coordinator position.
