Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin was a guest on Bill Simmons’ show Any Given Wednesday and he spoke on the National Anthem.
Baldwin told Bill Simmons that an NFL owner actually told his players that they are not allowed to protest the National Anthem, a movement that was started by 49ers’ quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Below is the transcript of what was said on the show:

Baldwin: “There are some owners out there that have taken a stand and told players to do certain things which I think is egregious … ”
Simmons: “What do you mean ‘taken a stand’?”
Baldwin: “There’s been owners that have told their players to do specific things. Or to not do specific things, I should say.”
Simmons: “Like what? You’re being cryptic.
Baldwin: “Specifically, regarding the National Anthem and the protests, the one quote that I was informed of was, ‘You’re going to stand on the line with your hand on your heart and you’re going to sing the National Anthem because this is my stage.’”
Simmons: “One of the owners said that?”
Baldwin: “Yeah.”
If Baldwin’s statement is true, this is obvious not a good look for the NFL owners, who are already under fire.
