This isn’t quite Vontae Davis levels of hilarity, but it’s close.
On Sept. 14, the New York Jets announced the team had signed veteran linebacker B.J. Goodson to a deal worth a little $2 million.
Seven snaps into his tenure with the Jets, he was apparently over football.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the veteran linebacker is retiring from the league.
Goodson was drafted by the Giants in the fourth-round of the 2016 NFL Draft coming of of Clemson, Goodson racked up 123 tackles in three years with the G-Men.

Goodson would go on to play in Green Bay and Cleveland before his very short finale back in New York with the Jets.
