Player-hosted podcast seemed to be the latest trend in sports, and Tyreek Hill is hopping on the train with his “It Needed To Be Said” podcast, which he started off with some rather controversial comments regarding his new QB in Miami. On the backs of the internet trolling Tyreek going from Patrick Mahomes to Tua Tagovailoa, Hill made it known that he feels as if Tua is the more accurate quarterback.
Obviously, like I’m going to go with one-five as the strongest arm. But as far as accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day. … I love the deep ball, but guess what though? I done expanded my game, so now I’m doing a lot more than just the deep ball now. I’m doing intermediate routes, I’m doing short routes, so now I actually need a guy who can just get me the ball now on a dagger route, on a corner route, on a shallow cross route — you know, right now, right in my chest, so now I can do the rest.”
On face value, the statement seems preposterous, but considering Tua is the most accurate QB in the history of college football and has a higher competition percentage than Mahomes in the NFL, it may not be as out there as it first seems.
Despite the facts, [Chiefs] fans understandably weren’t too thrilled at their former WR’s statement, and they let him know in the form of death threats.
“Every social media account I own, I got death threats on,” Hill said on Tuesday.
“I just feel like a lot of people overreacted for no reason,” Hill said. “… They really didn’t see what I said. A lot of people are just acting off emotion.”
