Hard Rock Stadium was renovated a few years ago to include a roof in order to provide some much needed shade to fans during the first half of the season in the sweltering South Florida heat.
As if teams coming down and playing 60 minutes of football in that heat and humidity wasn’t enough of a home field advantage, the engineers integrated a clever design feature to pile on to that advantage.
The opening in the roof was designed to keep the home sideline in the shade for the duration of the game and the opponent’s in the sun.
Not only was that on display during the Dolphins’ win over the Bills earlier this, but the Vikings are currently experiencing a 30-degree temperature difference.
