The New England Patriots season is such a disaster that many around the NFL believe Bill Belichick could be on the hot seat.
The Patriots entered the season with a real offensive coordinator – Bill O’Brien – but have yet to see any improvement from Mac Jones, who is also on the hot seat and could be benched if the poor play continues. The Patriots sit at 1-5 not he season and have the second-worst scoring offense in the entire NFL.
If Robert Kraft does in-fact move on from Belichick, Patriots insider Mike Giardi has made it clear that Bill still wants to coach and has listed the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders as potential landing spots for Belichick.
“Bill Belichick still wants to coach,” Giardi said. “So I know there’s been like this debate on, you know, Chris Simms put out like ‘I don’t think he’s that you know I honestly I think if it’s going to go bad, I want it to look like I wasn’t planning on coaching anymore.’ Yeah. I think I don’t think he’ll want to go out this way. I think you’ll want to coach. Like I said, I don’t think I don’t think you’d get much for him in a trade. But there are teams. Sure. I think the Commanders would be a team. I think Chicago.”
Obviously, this situation is something to monitor as we move forward this season.
