What a wild performance by Stetson Bennett.
Bennett was in the midst of a horrendous preseason performance against the Dallas Cowboys, throwing four interceptions in what seemed like a sure loss for the Rams. After after a shaky first 57 minutes of the game, he totally redeemed himself in the final minutes.
The former Georgia Bulldog led the Rams on a 13-play, 70-yard drive in 2:48, capping it off by throwing the game-winning touchdown pass to Miller Forristall for a touchdown with only 4 seconds left in the game.
It was a terrific play by the second-year quarterback, escaping the pocket to his left and throwing on the run to the tight end who was open in the end zone.
Bennett started the entire game for the Rams as neither starter Matthew Stafford nor backup Jimmy Garoppolo played. Jimmy G is set to be the backup to Stafford, however he’ll miss the first two games of the regular season due to a PED suspension.
