Patrick Mahomes will be a Chief through 2031.
The Kansas City City Chiefs selected a relatively unknown prospect out of Texas Tech in 2017 with the 10th overall pick, and just a few years later are sitting on top of the NFL world as reigning Super Bowl champions and Patrick Mahomes under center for the next decade.
The Chiefs and Mahomes agreed to a 10-year deal Monday, locking Mahomes into the richest contract in NFL history, and deservedly so.

Patrick Mahomes had two years remaining on his contract, and he and the Chiefs are adding on 10 more, making it a a new 12-year contract in total.

Mahomes is on pace to be statistically the greatest quarterback of all time, putting up 9,412 yards with 76 TDs to only 18 INTs in essentially two seasons as the starting QB.
