Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has reached agreement on a one-year, incentive-laden deal with the New England Patriots, league sources tell @mortreport and me.
Newton now will step into the mix to try to help replace former Patriots’ QB Tom Brady.

After the seemingly endless 20-year tenure of Tom Brady concluded in New England this offseason, the Patriots have signed free agent QB and former Panthers QB Cam Newton to a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old was the last free agent QB to be signed and will join a QB room of Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer and is expected to compete for the starting job.
