Once again, a member of the Dallas Cowboys’ career is in jeopardy.
According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, currently suspended Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain is abusing the recreational drug called, “purple drank” which is a combination of Sprite and codeine which is found in cough syrup.
One of the major side effects of “Purple Drank” is it can lead to rapid weight gain, which is exactly what has happened to McClain, per Jason Cole.
Cole was also told by a source that McClain is “incredibly out of shape” after the weight gain and believes it is “almost impossible” that the Cowboys linebacker will ever play in the NFL again.
This offseason has been one to forget for the Cowboys who have seen 2015 second round pick Randy Gregory suspended for 10 games and checking himself into rehab all but surely ending his season. The Cowboys will also be without starting defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who is also suspended for the first four games of the season for substance abuse.
