PITTSBURGH, PA – Somber, annoyed reactions swept across the Steelers practice facility when news broke that star running back Le’Veon Bell was officially suspended for the first four games of the up-coming NFL season.
Coming off a year plagued with suspensions and injuries while still getting far in the playoffs, the team is regarded as one of the prohibited favorites to get to the Super Bowl this season. Those chances did take a hit today though, as Pittsburgh has now lost two stars for a total of 20 games, and the season hasn’t even started yet.
The team’s equipment mangers got right to work though, preparing an alternate helmet for Bell that he will reportedly sport in his return:
Bell noted he can’t wait to smoke to competition wearing it. The team said they’ll try it with simulated game action during practice, to see if it will pass the test, something unfortunately he himself can’t quite do.
