Earlier this season, a petition was created to have Spongebob’s ‘Sweet Victory’ performed during the Super Bowl LIII halftime show in conjunction with the remembrance of the show’s creator Stephen Hillenburg, who passed away in November.
Well, it appears as if fans might get their wish.
Sideline reporter Angela Moryan is on site for the big game in Atlanta and shared this tweet that she and her parter heard Maroon 5 practicing inside the stadium with them standing a few football fields away.
After zooming in on one the glass facades, Spongebob is visible on one of the video boards in Mercedes Benz Stadium.

The first tangible inclination of Spongebob possibly appearing in the halftime show came from his mysterious appearance in this Maroon 5 teaser video leading up to the game.

Following that, Rodger Bumpass, the voice of Squidward Tenticles, then confirmed that he will be making some sort of appearance during the big game.
That evidence is now followed by the spy spots of the popular children’s cartoon inside the stadium.
