Saints Players Visited Bears TE Zach Miller In Hospital After His Knee Injury

Bears tight end Zach Miller is still recovering from a gruesome dislocated knee suffered during Sunday’s game against the Saints. While the rest of the tight end’s teammates flew home as regularly scheduled, Miller remaining in New Orleans, needing emergency surgery to save his left leg at University Medical Center.

At least Miller had some friendly visitors to keep him company – from the New Orleans Saints.

Saints tight end Michael Hoomanawanui was amoung them, saying, “He was very appreciative of us thinking of him,”

Hoomanawanui attributed the compassion to the NFL’s “brotherhood” between players.

“He’s gotta be here for a week or whatever, and if you can make it feel like home for him a little bit/ He was alert, and we were just talking like he was one of us. It was a cool 20 minutes or whatever we spent with him. I know he’s got a long road ahead … but it was good to see him.”

Other Saints players even noted their wives had been putting together care packages for Miller and his family.

Saints running back Mark Ingram reached out on Twitter offering food or other help.
