Turns Out Colin Kaepernick Received Less Than $10 Million In Settlement With NFL After Lawsuit

Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid and the NFL settled a lawsuit filed against the league on behalf on the two players back in February.

The former 49ers quarterback and safety alleged collusion after Reed remained unsigned for a long period of time and Kaepernick still to this day remains unsigned presumptively in response to the protest of kneeling during the National Anthem to bring awareness to racial injustice and police brutality.

After news broke that Kaepernick, Reid and their legal team settled, numerous reports came out speculating the confidential amount they received from the NFL as payment to close the case.

Turns out it’s less than what many were projecting. A lot less.

Despite reports that the sum could have reached the nine figure mark, Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the collusion grievances were less than $10 million (Pro Football Talk).

The exact number remains a mystery.
