Losing a Super Bowl must be a tragic time for one. The countless hours in the weight room, on the practice field, spending weeks preparing for one game, 60 min of football, all to have it slip away. Football players who play on such a stage are often glorified and lose that humanistic quality that we can relate to, but Broncos’ DE Shaun Phillips tweeted a picture of this short conversation with his son following their Super Bowl loss, captioned “Sorry we let you guys down. Messages like this is the I my thing that make me feel better.” Things like these bring these showcased athletes back to Earth, and we realize they are also just as human as every one of us.
