Charles Barkley Blasts Derrick Rose After Rose’s Comments About Sitting Out

Derrick Rose has suffered some serious knee injuries over the past three years and even though he’s only been in the NBA seven years, he’s already thinking about life after basketball.

Derrick Rose, who sat recently talked about his basketball schedule as it pertains to this season, said that he is being very careful about how many games he plays because he’s worried about things outside of basketball. Rose talked about how he’s wondering what life will be like when his basketball career is over:

“I think a lot of people don’t understand that when I sit out it’s not because of this year. I’m thinking long term. … I don’t want to be in my meetings all sore or be at my son’s graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past.” – Derrick Rose

Charles Barkley and the rest of the Inside the NBA crew chimed in on Rose’s comments and Barkley was not happy about his comments:

“Of course I do, that was stupid. Derrick Rose is a great player, is a great kid, loves his mom. That was stupid. You know, Ernie, we’re so blessed. I limp around, but I go home to a big ol’ mansion. There are people who work harder than Derrick Rose who go home to a shack. There are consequences to what we do for a living, but we got the best life in the world.” – Charles Barkley

Nobody can blame Rose for caring for his health but it’s the words that Rose choose to use in his statement that has people wondering if Rose’s heart is really into this.  The Bulls are as talented as they’ve ever been but still will need Derrick Rose to be the Derrick Rose we’ve seen in order for them to contend for a championship.
