Indiana High School Basketball Game Ends With A Brawl

A massive brawl involving players and fans broke out during an Indiana high school basketball this past weekend.

The Times of Northwest Indiana’s Steve Hanlon was able to get this footage of how the brawl started and eventually ended with the game being called. The brawl began when Griffith’s Anthony Murphy was fouled hard by Hammond’s Tim Echoles while attempting a break away dunk. Murphy had received the outlet pass and elevated for a dunk when Echoles shoved Murphy and sent him flying in the padded wall behind the basket.

The foul could have been worse, as the padded wall help save Murphy from serious injury, but it was the ensuing mayhem that ultimately was very dangerous and lead to the game being ended.

Once the benches were cleared, fans ran across the court and began fighting with players and coaches as the P.A. announcers pleaded with the fans to “Please stay in your seats! All fans please return to your seats!”.

Local authorities are reviewing the game tape to figure out if any adult fans threw hands during the High School basketball game fight. The game was suspended but it is pending a rescheduling.
