Throwback To The Worst Drive In NFL History, Where The Eagles Punted On 2nd Down

Every time your favorite team has a drive that goes three-and-out from now out, remember it could have been worse. A lot worse.

An Eagles vs Redskins game some time ago featured arguably the worst drive in NFL history.

With Philadelphia leading 7-3, the Eagles started the drive with a run that was stuffed at the line of scrimmage. The 2nd down play drew a false start penalty, only for the replay of the down to feature an illegal hands to the face penalty. The repeat of that down (2nd & 25) was called back for holding on the offense. Now facing a 2nd & 35, the Eagles didn’t get the snap off, moving the down to 2nd & 40. The Eagles, then for whatever reason, attempted a punt, which was blocked and recovered by the Redskins.
