New Angle Shows Cowboys Were Clearly Short On First Down Call Measured By Peice Of Paper

One of the strangest sequences in NFL officiating history took place Sunday night during Raiders-Cowboys when head official Gene Steratore measured a first down crucial to both team’s playoff hopes with a folded up piece of paper.

Steratore and crew ruled the nose of the football was passed the 10-yard chain, to which this new images shows it was clearly short.

The first down elongated the Cowboys drive, eventually leading to the game-winning touchdown.
