Back in Week 14 of the 2016 season, the Atlanta Falcons played the Los Angeles Rams and their star wide receiver Julio Jones didn’t play due to a turf toe injury.
Like all Twitter accounts do, his status was tweeted out by the Falcons official Twitter account and now it appears someone has retweeted that old tweet in attempt to troll Falcons fans:
WR Julio Jones will be INACTIVE today against the LA Rams #ATLvsLA
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) December 11, 2016
And it worked.
Not only were fans shocked but they decided to hate on the Falcons receiver as well:
Julio Jones is as soft as they come. Don’t argue with me.

The false alarm also led to some gambling ramifications too for those who fell for it:
NFL 🏉:
Rams -6 -110 Full Game
JULIO JONES INACTIVE TONIGHT, LETS CASHHHHHHH

Atlanta is about to lose by 14+ today. They won’t be able to score enough to keep up with the Rams offense with Julio inactive.
