The Denver Broncos are in desperate need of improving their quarterback situation and tried hard to acquire Alex Smith from their division rival, Chiefs.
According to reports, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach turned down a massive offer from John Elway:
On @Browns_Daily right now @AllbrightNFL said that “Alex Smith chose Washington due to the long term deal that the Skins were offering.” Added Browns offered multiple picks but wanted him for short term deal and Denver offered a 2nd and Aqib Talib!

The Chiefs ultimately traded Smith to the Redskins for a 2018 third-round pick and cornerback Kendall Fuller.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are still searching for their quarterback and will likely pursue Kirk Cousins or a young prospect in the upcoming 2018 Draft.
